Travel Safety Tips (From My Personal Experience)
Travel Safety Tips (From My Personal Experience)
By: Lyndsey Walthall (blog 37)
Have you traveled since the world ended? Until recently, I hadn’t, either. However, a couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of traveling to LA for a few days with a friend. This blog is not about that trip, but about some basic Covid safety procedures that would be beneficial not only for personal travel, but business. It’s important to keep ourselves—and others—as safe as possible, especially with Omicron rearing its ugly head.
Bring tons (emphasis on tons) of disposable masks. Granted, my friend and I attended a couple concerts and were around thousands and thousands of people each night, and while a business meeting would likely not be that large, it’s still a good idea to wear the mask during the event, then trash it once you’re back at your hotel. And pack several extras, too, because if you’re anything like me, you’ll spill lemonade all over yours and need a replacement.
Stock up on hand sanitizers and wipes, especially if you’re traveling by plane. Wipe down the seat, tray table and seatbelt. Flight attendants on at least one of my flights were handing out antibacterial wipes to passengers, but don’t rely on them. Depending on just how many people you’re around (and the different environments you’re exposed to), you may want to wipe down your personal belongings, IE, briefcases, purses, computer bags, wallets, debit and credit cards. My friend and I didn’t do this every day, but definitely after we left the stadium.
Lastly, I’d recommend reading up on the mask mandates where you’re headed. My personal opinion aside, the reality is not everyone is vaccinated, and LA has very, very strict mask/vaccine mandates in place. You don’t want to reach your final destination and find you’re unable to do anything because you’re unvaccinated. Plan accordingly!
