Meetings: Face to Face or Virtual?
Meetings: Face to Face or Virtual?
By: Lyndsey Walthall (Blog 29)
Before we get started, I’m excited to say we’re one week shy of 30 blog posts! Like always, everyone here at BCI appreciates your ongoing support and interest in our product. Your happiness (and business success) has always been—and continues to be—our number one priority. Cheers!
Now let’s get down to business. (Sounds like the start of a meeting, doesn’t it?) For the last couple weeks we’ve been talking about 2020’s abrupt switch to remote work. IE, examining statistics and whether or not our productivity suffered. Today I’d thought we’d round out this discussion with a look at meetings. Specifically, which is better—in person or virtual? Personally, I never had to deal with Zoom meetings, but I think we’ve all enjoyed the hilarious mishaps of those who have. You guys remember the boss who turned herself into a potato, right? She couldn’t figure out how to fix it and spent the whole meeting like that. It’s the small things!
Anyway, so what’s better? According to trackmind.com, the answer is simple: neither. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. Virtual meetings eradicate things like time and travel but lack the intimate setting of a traditional meeting. Alternatively, meeting virtually enables your whole team to come together seamlessly. I know travel restrictions are easing, but that flexibility is still very important.
Which is why at BCI, you can have both! While I write this two in person meetings are being held. Just yesterday another client booked a conference room to hold virtual job interviews. See? Both!
